![]() Hey all, I usually only read the forums, but being that i AM a Machinist, i thought i could help here. Hopefully some time at the factory will yield some more info. I initially figured I would just look up the definition of the TAP file format and worse case scenario I could write a Python script so FreeCAD could export to it, but despite the wonders of google search, this file format seems to be a bit of a mystery. I will report back as soon as I have more info. ![]() Hopefully it is indeed just G-Code and not some sort of "modified" G-Code. So, what I need to do here is to get over to the factory and find out the details of our cnc router and this mystery "TAP" file format. We also want to remove EnRoute from the workflow because what happens is that we create a drawing and then when people bring it into EnRoute to convert it they make changes to it and keeping track of current revisions becomes a mess because we have these "adjusted" drawings in addition to the actual drawings. Part of the incentive to upgrade to something else (this is what i am being told) is apparently SolidWorks and a few other apps will (supposedly) export the correct format. ![]() ![]() The only reason we use EnRoute is because the old version of Keċreator they use won't export to a format that the CNC router will use. I think you may have helped me in that per your suggestion I looked around and it appears that perhaps this TAP file is indeed just plain old G-Code. ![]()
